AMBUSH Joins Artists Against AIDS,
NO/AIDS Walk, Pride Fest, Halloween
& GAA as Corporate Sponsor

In keeping with its long-standing tradition of community support, AMBUSH Mag 2000 and AMBUSHonLINE have joined together endorsing Artists Against AIDS, NO/AIDS Walk, Pride Fest, Halloween XIV and GAA as a corporate sponsor through its *AMgrant program [*Ambush Advertising Grant Program]. The *AMgrant program donated over $50,000 in 1996 towards various organizations and events both in ad and monetary grants. This years program is expected to exceed $100,000. The program is made possible through the continual support and patronage of Ambush clients, friends, associates and its readership estimated at over 650,000 through the printed paper and at over 1.2 million online annually.

Artists Against AIDS presents Musical Magic '97 Saturday, July 19 at the Mahalia Jackson Theatre of Performing Arts in Armstrong Park, New Orleans. "Rockin' The Mahalia!" promises to be "the hottest concert of the summer" with a reception and silent auction at 6:30 pm followed by showtime at 8pm. Celebrity emcees Angela Hill and Margaret Orr will be joined by hostess Nicki Reyes. Concert goers will be treated to the talents of Charmaine Neville, Cynthia Owen, Germaine Bazzle, Kris Shaw, The Cast of Sophisticated Ladies, Bryan Batt, Al Hirt, The Gospel Soul Children, Kim Prevost, Michael Chase and more in this star studded extravaganza.

Ticket proceeds benefit NO/AIDS Task Force and Project Lazarus and are available through TicketMaster @504.522.5555. For more info call 504.834.SHOW[7469] or visit www.artistsagainstaids.org.

Corporate sponsors also include Metro Bank, WB38, Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS, Planet Hollywood and Magic 101.9.

NO/AIDS Walk is the annual fund-raiser for NO/AIDS Task Force and various HIV/AIDS service organizations throughout Louisiana. The '97 event is set for Sunday, September 14, 8am, Audubon Park. Ambush has supported the Walk as a corporate sponsor for the past 7 years. The Walk is expected to raise over $200,000 this year.

Personally, we host our annual anniversary party in August asking guests, in lieu of gifts, to sponsor Rip in the Walk each year. Magnolia Cotillion [MC] has raised over $41,000 for this most important event for the past 6 years. We hope MC XXIII will continue the tradition with the help of all our friends, clients and associates.

Call the NO/AIDS Task Force for more info at 504.945.4000 or visit www.crescentcity.com/noaids/.

Pride Fest '97 is scheduled to begin on National Coming Out Day, Saturday, Oct. 11 and run through Sunday, Oct. 12 at Washington Square Park in the Marigny. Ambush has chosen to support Pride as a corporate sponsor for the second year due to Pride's policy of inclusiveness. The Pride Board has made great strides bringing the entire GLBT community together celebrating its diversity. Other sponsors include Absolut Vodka, Alternative Apparel Company, Fashion Cafe/New Orleans and Wood Enterprises.
