NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA

So Decadence is here and it looks like it will be the biggest one ever! I was very excited to here the theme for this year, as well as getting to know this year's Grand Marshal, Miss Love! I have found him to be sincere, creative and fun!

If you weren't at the Coronation held at Lafitte's, you missed out! The show was fabulous and very campy, as it should be! But once the announcement was made the crowd was all ears to hear the theme!

Miss Love stated that since we were not able to get legally married as of yet, and since we were celebrating our 25th Anniversary of Southern Decadence... that our theme this year would be..."The Love Tour... A Wedding to Remember!" Lafitte's went up in a roar! The best theme yet! Wigs off to Miss Love!

I am sure there will be Brides and Bride's Maids everywhere! On the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend, Miss Love will be doing the Annual Bead Toss from the Ambush Balcony around 3:30pm, at 6ish he will be throwing his garter from the Pub/Parade balcony and right after that he will be throwing the bridal bouquet off the Lafitte's' balcony. Hope to see you all out there dressed up!

I hope everyone is getting fired up for Gay Pride this year which will be held October 11th & 12th in association with "National Coming Out" Day! We have quite the setup for PrideFest `97! So far we have a great line-up with nationally acclaimed Men Out Loud and direct from Comedy Central, Rob Nash. Our headliner is in the process of being sealed up right now, so I can't say anything yet. The Alliance is planning a Prideful Home Decoration Contest for you to win prizes for your best decorating for the week before PrideFest '97. Keep watch for further details.
