Subject: Cancelling My Plans
I am sorry to say that I just saw the report on Dateline this evening and I wanted you to know that I have cancelled my plans to visit Mardi Gras this next year. I will not visit the state of Louisiana until the governor does the right thing and makes amends to the people that were harrassed on interstate 10. Pass it on, because I am telling everybody that I know about the story. And I will tell them not to visit Louisiana until the governor does the right thing. I have a feeling that the story will cost the governor his job! "Throw us a new governor mister!"

Subject: Louisiana?
Here is the text of a message I just sent to NBC news. You might want to talk to the governor about the image he portrayed this evening. [Aug. 22] Dear Jane Pauley and her assistants, I had planned to take my wife for a nice vacation in Louisiana. I had been to New Orleans for a convention and wanted her to experience New Orleans. After tonight's DateLine - forget it!! There is no way on this planet that I would EVER want to set foot in that state - much less pay any taxes on food, motels, etc. which might be used by the court system of Louisiana. The governor is a disgrace to the meaning of the word governor. I hope you get lots of email concerning the program and thanking you for exposing the sleezeballs. I'm a grandfather of three, father of two and husband of one woman for 37 years. I would not want any of those loved ones to be caught in the situations you showed tonight. And I thought this was a God fearing country.

Subject: roles?
I was just wondering what I would have to do to be in a gay porno. I am 20 years old, therefore old enough. If you don't know directly the way to go about it, would you be able to refer me to e-mail addresses that do recruit young studs to participate? Any info you could give me would be extremely useful. Thanks
-Kris Huston

Subject: congratulations/well done come together friends!! i have not had the chance to join one of your celebrations in person. thanks to your very creative webpage, i feel like i may have been there in spirit. as a 45 year old male with primarily hetero experience, i want to applaud you for your pride, creativity and sincerity in organizing such a positive event. the pictures and descriptions which i viewed on your webpage were very refreshing and put a proud smile on my face. i respect you for your commitment to the enjoyment of life to it's fullest. i feel that if more uptight people in our society could focus on the happiness which surrounds us rather than the analysis of what it all "means", many stressful problems would cease to exist. keep functioning positively. it DOES make a difference. yours in fraternal love,

Subject: visit
I am planning a visit to New Orleans for a job interview October 7, 97. I would like to arrive the weekend of October 5 and take a look around the city, any suggestions. I am female, an aviator and am applying for an off shore position where I would be out on a rig for 7 days at a time. I have worked in an predominately male environment all of my professional life. My concern is that I will feel extremely isolated unless I am in the heart of the gay community. I would like get an idea of the community and support during my visit. Would you be able to provide any info on where to look for housing, if I am going to live with "breeders" for a 7 day stretch I would like my time off to be in the community. Thanks for any suggestions,
-Mmancano @ aol.com (Maria)

Dear Southern Decadence Organizers: Just a quick note to let you all know what a wonderful time I had in New Orleans for Southern Decadence! Keep up the good work! I was hoping to see my costume on the pics page but alas it was not there. Me and my friend were the "Silver Men" costume which we actually put together there in New Orleans over the course of two days. We were very pleased at the response we got from the crowd but you have no idea how many people asked us if "everything" was silver. If you would like to respond to my e-mail please send it to Zappl969@aol.com Again, I thought the events were well organized and the hospitality was generous. Thanks again!

Subject: John St. Arno?
To Whomever: I'm trying to locate this person whom I met back in 1988? His name does not turn up in any phone directories. I wonder if you could help, or refer me to the right organization there which might. His name: John St. Arno He worked at Pierre Antoine's? Restaurant there in New Orleans. My motive is just to re-establish contact so I can write to him. Any assistance would be of great help.
-Ken Summers
P.S. John might remember me via a library conference, I was attending at that time (1988?); I was living in Tucson, Arizona then.

Subject: HOW ABOUT AUSTIN PLEASE
JUST GOT BACK FROM ANOTHER ( THE BEST ) DECADENCE. WE ALWAYS PICK UP YOUR MAGAZINE AS SOON AS WE HIT TOWN, AND SAW THAT YOU DISTRIBUTE SOME COPIES IN BEAUMONT, DALLAS, AND HOUSTON. HOW ABOUT SENDING SOME OVER HERE SO WE CAN SEE WHAT ALL WE'RE MISSING, AND MAYBE MAKE PLANS TO COME OVER MORE OFTEN. WE CAN MAKE IT IN LESS THAN EIGHT HOURS WITH FEW PEE BREAKS. ANYWAY, PLEASE CONSIDER SENDING SOME COPIES THIS WAY. I WOULD RECOMMEND "THE FORUM" , AUSTINS NEWEST BAR ... AND ALSO OILCAN HARRYS. IF YOU NEED ADDRESSES, EMAIL ME BACK. OR I WOULD BE HAPPY TO GET THEM TO THE CLUBS FOR YOU. THANKS FOR ANY CONSIDERATION, AND THANKS FOR A GREAT LONG LABOR DAY WEEKEND
