Coming up on Thurs., Oct 8, it's the third annual Austin Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce Community Open House featuring a Business Showcase. The event will be held at the Zilker Clubhouse located at 200 Zilker Clubhouse Road off Rollingwood Dr. from 6:30 till 9pm. Beginners are from 7-8pm with Intermediates beginning at 8 till 9pm.

It was a busty dive drag night at the Chain Drive recently where owner Donald, DJ Tank, bartender/Mr. Austin Leather Michael and other employees all donned drag to help raise money for Aids Services of Austin (ASA) the Paul Kirby Foundation. Look for pictures in the next edition of Ambush. Speaking of the Chain Drive, it seems that customers can now smoke in the front bar and are no longer limited to the back bar. This one issue alone has raised many controversies within the Gay community due to Austin's smoking ordinance. Charlie's Austin will host Monday Night Football with free pizza at 7pm. On Sat. at Charlie's Austin, look for free door prizes. Over at Splash Video Bar, look for their next upcoming Splash Internet Party on Oct. 16th starting at 7pm. More information may be obtained by E-mailing SplashAus@aol.com.

It has come to the attention of many Austin drinkers that we should all Party Smart. Drinkers should watch their drinks and should never leave them unattended, due to a rash of drinks being altered by Rohypnol, GHB or other drugs that can make one unknowingly become vulnerable to rape or other violent crimes. More information on sexual assault may be obtained at 512.440.7273 or from Aids Services of Austin (ASA) at 512.458.2437.

It was heard that Austinite Debbie S. states that she likes her women in either oil or, better yet, spring water. Go ask Charlie about this one. Lastly, congrats to Forum's owner Mark Haworth as the new Vice President of the Austin Tavern Guild. Until the next time, take care of yourself and Cheers. Eric
