Christmas: The Wood Enterprises Way

As holiday season gears up, all three Wood Enterprises bars, Cafe Lafitte, Good Friends, and Rawhide, will be handing out "Care Bears" for the sixth year. Each "bear" has the age and sex of a PWA who receives his meals from Food For Friends. A patron, or employee, takes a "bear" and buys that person a gift accordingly. The gift is returned to any one of the bars and then delivered to the person along with his Christmas dinner! For the first time, this year, when the gift is returned to the bar, Wood Enterprises will buy that patron a well drink or domestic beer as a way of saying "Thanks". This program has been a big success in the past, showing people what a caring community this is. A large part of the success of this program is due to the participation of Wood Enterprises' many employees. Stop by Cafe Lafitte, Good Friends, or Rawhide and pick up you "Care Bear" today, and be sure to return your bear attached to a gift by Dec. 19 to insure that it will be delivered with Christmas dinner.

On Sun., Dec. 14, Good Friends will be hosting a tree trimming party at 5pm. Bring in an ornament for the tree and a toy, and receive a free well drink or domestic beert. This will be a great way to contribute to a worthy cause as the toys will be donated to Pediatric AIDS patients. There will also be free wassail to all who stop by. Don't forget to join Tommy T in the Queen's Head Pub for caroling by the piano from 4pm to 8pm.

On Sat., Dec. 20, Good Friends will be hosting its second annual Christmas Gala. This year's theme is "Barbie Does Christmas." If it's anything like last year's show, it will be a scream. If you have seen the staff of Good Friends lately, you must know they will be featuring the new, larger Barbie in the show.
